Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 16 April 2025 · Effective Date: 16 April 2025
Please read these terms carefully before registering for any programme offered by Mongkol Group. By registering, you are indicating that you have read and understood the terms set out here and that you agree to be bound by them. If you have questions before registering, we welcome you to contact us directly.
1. About Mongkol Group
Mongkol Group is a financial education business operating in Bangkok, Thailand. Our registered address is 158 Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900. We offer educational programmes designed to help adults aged 40 and above develop a more considered and informed understanding of personal financial matters.
We can be contacted by telephone at +66 81 734 2658 or by email at [email protected].
2. Nature of Our Programmes
All programmes offered by Mongkol Group are educational in nature. We teach ways of reading, interpreting, and discussing financial information. We do not provide financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice of any kind. Nothing in any programme, material, or communication from Mongkol Group constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument, asset, or product.
Our programmes are designed to support your own thinking, not to direct it. Participants are always encouraged to consult qualified financial advisors and other professionals for guidance specific to their own circumstances.
Mongkol Group does not hold a licence to provide financial advice under Thai law. Our facilitation role is limited to education, discussion, and the sharing of publicly available information and case study material.
3. Registration and Enrolment
How to Register
Registration for our programmes is accepted via the enquiry form on this website, by telephone, or by email. Registration is complete upon receipt of a written confirmation from Mongkol Group, which we send once we have confirmed availability and received payment in full or, where arranged, a deposit.
Eligibility
Our programmes are intended for adults aged 40 and above. We reserve the right to decline or defer a registration where we consider the programme unsuitable for a particular participant, for example where the programme's focus does not align well with the participant's situation or goals. In such cases, we will be candid about our reasons and will always be glad to suggest a more suitable starting point.
Programme Numbers
Each programme is offered with a small number of participants to allow for considered discussion. If a cohort is full at the time of your registration, we will place you on a waiting list and contact you as soon as a place becomes available or when the next cohort is scheduled.
4. Fees and Payment
Programme Fees
The fees for each programme are as follows, stated in Thai Baht (THB) and inclusive of all programme materials unless otherwise noted:
- Reading What the Markets Did — ฿5,450 per participant
- The Households of Friends — ฿8,600 per participant
- The Patient Investor's Almanac — ฿11,500 per participant (six-month programme)
Payment Terms
Full payment is requested prior to the commencement of a programme. For The Patient Investor's Almanac, we are willing to discuss a payment arrangement of two instalments: one at registration and one at the commencement of month four. Please enquire when registering if you would prefer this arrangement.
Included in the Fee
All printed programme materials, including the personal one-page note (Reading What the Markets Did), any session handouts (The Households of Friends), and the monthly printed prompt sheets (The Patient Investor's Almanac) are included in the stated fee. Light refreshments are provided at in-person sessions. The physical almanac booklet for The Patient Investor's Almanac is provided to participants at the first meeting.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation by a Participant
If you need to withdraw from a programme before it begins, we ask that you notify us in writing as early as possible. Our refund policy is as follows:
- 14 days or more before commencement: Full refund, less a ฿500 administrative fee.
- 7–13 days before commencement: 50% refund of the programme fee.
- Fewer than 7 days before commencement: No refund, but we will offer you a place in the next available cohort of the same programme at no additional charge.
Withdrawal During a Programme
If you choose to withdraw from a programme after it has commenced, no refund will be issued for sessions already held. For The Patient Investor's Almanac, if you withdraw before month four, we will refund the fee for the remaining unstarted months, calculated on a pro-rata basis. We are always willing to discuss individual circumstances.
Cancellation by Mongkol Group
In the event that Mongkol Group needs to cancel or substantially reschedule a programme due to circumstances beyond our control, we will offer participants a full refund or a transfer to the next available cohort, at the participant's choice. We will notify participants as promptly as possible in such circumstances.
6. Conduct and Participation
Our programmes are designed as spaces for considered, respectful conversation. We ask all participants to approach each session with a willingness to listen as well as to contribute, and to keep the personal financial details shared by other participants confidential.
Confidentiality Within Programmes
Discussions that take place within our programmes, including references to personal financial situations, household circumstances, or anonymized case study details, are shared in confidence among the participants and facilitator. Participants agree not to disclose the personal details of others discussed in a session to third parties outside the programme.
Facilitator's Role
The facilitator's role is educational: to guide discussion, share relevant information and context, and help participants develop their own thinking. The facilitator will not make specific recommendations about a participant's financial decisions and will direct participants to seek professional advice where appropriate.
Behaviour
Mongkol Group reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a programme, without refund, where their conduct is disrespectful to other participants or to the facilitator, or where it materially disrupts the educational purpose of the session.
7. Programme Materials and Intellectual Property
All programme materials prepared by Mongkol Group — including session guides, prompt sheets, case study summaries, and reading lists — remain the intellectual property of Mongkol Group. Participants are welcome to make personal use of materials provided to them during a programme. Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared commercially without prior written permission from Mongkol Group.
The personal almanac kept by participants in The Patient Investor's Almanac programme is a private document belonging to the participant. It is their own writing and their own record; Mongkol Group claims no ownership or right to access it.
8. Limitation of Liability
Mongkol Group is not responsible for any financial loss, investment loss, or other consequence arising from a participant's use of information, discussions, or perspectives encountered in our programmes. Our programmes are educational. Participants make their own financial decisions and are responsible for those decisions.
To the extent permitted by Thai law, Mongkol Group's total liability to any participant in connection with a programme is limited to the fee paid by that participant for the programme in question.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under Thai law.
9. Privacy and Personal Data
We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which sets out in full how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, and what rights you hold under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019). By registering for a programme, you confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
10. Recordings and Photography
Sessions are not recorded by Mongkol Group unless participants have been informed in advance and have given their written consent. Participants may not record sessions — whether by audio, video, or other means — without the written consent of all other participants and the facilitator.
Photography is similarly not permitted during sessions without the consent of all those present. This is to protect the privacy and confidence of all participants.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The current version will be available on this page, with the date of last update noted above. For participants who have already registered for a programme, the terms in force at the time of their registration will apply, unless both parties agree to updated terms in writing.
If you have registered for a programme and we make a material change to these terms, we will notify you by email at the address you provided at registration.
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts. We would always prefer to resolve any concerns informally in the first instance and welcome you to contact us if any question arises.
