What We Offer
Why This Approach Works for Adults at 40+
A considered account of what Mongkol Group offers that most financial education does not — and why that matters to adults who have already spent years managing money.
Back to HomeSix Qualities That Define Our Programmes
Each quality addresses a specific gap in how financial education is ordinarily delivered to adults with financial experience.
No Commercial Agenda
We do not sell products and receive no commission from any financial institution. Every observation in our sessions is made in the interest of the participant's understanding, not our revenue.
- No product recommendations
- No referral fees accepted
- No upsell after sessions
Small, Deliberate Groups
Capped at twelve participants, sessions allow each person to speak, ask, and disagree without the anonymity of a large room. This size is chosen, not imposed by circumstance.
- Maximum twelve participants
- Each voice heard in discussion
- Further cohorts added, not larger groups
Thai and Regional Context
Source material draws on Thai market history, Thai regulatory context, and the particular circumstances of Thai family financial arrangements. Not a translated Western course.
- Thai SET data and history
- Local regulatory references
- Thai household case studies
Facilitators, Not Salespeople
Our facilitators come from journalism, adult education, and economics. Their purpose in the room is to keep discussion open and rigorous — not to build toward any predetermined conclusion.
- Academic and editorial backgrounds
- Question-led facilitation
- Neutral on market timing
Patience as the Central Skill
Each programme is structured around the practice of observing over time rather than reacting quickly. This runs counter to most financial media but aligns with what long-run data actually shows.
- Long-run historical lens
- Monthly observation habits
- Personal almanac for reflection
Confidential by Design
Participants agree at the outset that nothing shared in the room is attributed externally. Personal financial documents remain with the participant and are never collected, reviewed, or assessed by the group.
- Confidentiality agreement in place
- No personal data shared externally
- Private documents stay private
A Closer Look at Each Benefit
The Expertise Behind the Programmes
Mongkol Group's facilitators hold backgrounds in financial journalism, household economics, and university-level economic history. This combination is deliberate. Financial journalism provides fluency with how markets are reported and misrepresented. Economics provides the analytical frame. Adult education provides the understanding of how people in their forties and fifties actually learn and change their thinking.
The content in each programme has been tested through multiple cohorts. Where participants have found a case study unrealistic or a data presentation unclear, revisions have been made before the next cohort begins. The programmes are, in this sense, continuously improved by the people who attend them.
A Proven Structure for Each Session
Each programme follows a structure developed across several cohorts. Sessions begin with a reading period — participants review material before discussion begins. Discussion is shaped by prepared questions, not open-ended prompting, which keeps conversation grounded. Sessions close with a brief individual reflection that participants complete in their own time.
This structure is not rigid for its own sake. It exists because adult learners, in our experience, prefer a clear frame to an open room. Knowing what the session will ask of them allows participants to arrive prepared and to engage substantively from the first exchange.
Attentive, Unhurried Support
Registration enquiries are answered within one working day. Before you commit to a programme, we are glad to answer questions about what the sessions actually involve — whether the pace suits you, whether the case study material is relevant to your situation, or whether a different programme might be a better starting point.
We do not use automated enquiry responses. When you write or call, you will reach one of our facilitators, not an administrator with a script.
Clear Pricing, No Hidden Layers
Programme fees are stated on our solutions page and do not change based on the number of enquiries you make before registering. There are no supplementary fees for materials — all printed prompt sheets and reading lists are included. There are no alumni membership fees or follow-up subscription services.
What Participants Typically Take Away
The outcome of a Mongkol Group programme is not a certificate or a set of instructions. It is, more often, a change in the quality of attention participants bring to financial information they encounter day to day. Several participants describe finishing the almanac programme with a clearer sense of which financial decisions genuinely required action and which required only patience.
A number of participants from earlier cohorts have begun a second cycle of the almanac programme in the following year. We regard this as meaningful: people who return do so because the process of observation itself becomes useful, not because they feel they must repeat it to maintain access to anything.

What Sets Mongkol Group Apart
The Almanac Model
No other programme in Bangkok invites participants to maintain a private personal almanac of financial observations over six months, with monthly facilitated discussion. This format builds a habit of reflection rather than delivering a fixed body of knowledge.
Anonymized Thai Case Studies
The household case study library used in The Households of Friends programme is built from real situations, carefully anonymized. The scenarios reflect Thai income levels, family structures, and financial decisions — not American or European assumptions translated for a Thai audience.
Cohort-Refined Content
Each cohort's feedback directly informs revisions before the next group begins. Programmes are not static products but living documents, shaped over time by the adults who have attended them.
No Minimum Asset Requirement
Many financial education providers — implicitly or explicitly — design their content for people with substantial investable assets. Our programmes are designed for adults across a range of financial situations, because the value of careful financial thinking is not proportional to current net worth.
